The Six Forms of Energy

There are six different forms of energy. Sound energy is created by noise or vibrations. It travels through materials such as wood, air, and water. Another form of energy is chemical energy. It is in food, gasoline, and other chemical combinations. Energy also comes from light and heat. This is called radiant energy. A common type of energy is electrical energy. It powers iPods, TVs, computers, and other electronics. Atomic energy occurs when atoms are split. The sun atom bombs, and nuclear power plants use atomic energy. Mechanical energy for example is moving gears or a running car.
